The Green Bay Packers can make a bit of NFL history when the Atlanta Falcons come to Lambeau Field for the Packers' 2026 home opener on Thursday night.
With a victory over the Falcons, the Packers would set the new NFL record for consecutive wins in home openers at 14, breaking the current tie with the Miami Dolphins (1976-88) at 13.
The Packers haven't lost a home opener since Week 1 of the 2012 season, a loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Per Next Gen Stats, each of the other 31 NFL teams have lost at least three home openers during the Packers' current 13-game home opener win streak.
The Packers and Falcons are scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. CT kickoff from Lambeau Field on "Thursday Night Football" in Week 3. This is the first of five scheduled home
primetime games for the Packers this season, which is set to be a new team record.

Thursday night's visit from the Falcons is the Packers' only home game during the season's first four weeks. Next week, Matt LaFleur's team goes to Tampa Bay. This is only the third time in team history that the Packers have started with three road games in the first four weeks and the first since 2014, when the Packers won their home opener over the Jets.
The Packers and Falcons have never played on a Thursday.
The Falcons lost their home opener last Sunday to the Carolina Panthers and will travel to Green Bay on a short week.
