Green Bay Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon is not dealing with a significant injury and will actually practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice with a groin injury.
Coach Matt LaFleur said Nixon, one of the team's starters at cornerback, got a chance to rest the issue on Wednesday and would be back at practice Thursday.
"He was feeling a little something in his groin, so we gave him the day. He'll be out there today," LaFleur said before practice Thursday.
The Nixon injury news is important considering the Packers are three days away from facing Dallas Cowboys receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, who have 862 total receiving yards through five games this season. Without Nixon, and possibly veteran backup Benjamin St-Juste, who missed
Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury, the Packers would have been shorthanded at corner ahead of a big matchup with a veteran quarterback and elite skill position weapons.
LaFleur said defensive tackle Jonathan Ford would also likely practice on Thursday.
Having Nixon and Ford available on Sunday would help alleviate most of the concerns at cornerback and defensive line against the Cowboys.
The Packers will practice again on Friday before issuing final status designations on the final injury report released Friday afternoon.
