This week, it's been well documented how many connections exist between this year’s Tennessee Titans organization and the New York Giants.
Of course, most of the talk has centered on coaches such as Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and Giants quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan, or even players such as Cor’Dale Flott ot Wan’Dale Robinson. But an important member of the Titans’ staff has flown under the radar: special teams coordinator John “Bones” Fassel.
As he pointed out to the media ahead of practice on Thursday, he shares a special bond with the Giants organization.

“My gosh, it stirs emotion in me. I have incredible admiration for the New York Giants franchise.” Fassel said, “Every year I go back to New York, and it reminds me of being a ball boy and being out there in pregame warmups and catching punts for Brad Maynard and all of the specialists out there. A lot of fantastic memories.”
There is no doubt that returning to the city where your father once coached is emotional, but hearing Fassel talk about shagging punts and working with the specialists of the Giants has clearly left an imprint on him and, in some ways, helped him develop into one of the top special teams coordinators in the NFL.
Now, he will return to the stadium and hopefully help the Titans pull out a much-needed victory.
