The Tennessee Titans are back in Nashville, trying to stack victories for the first time since 2022, when they meet up with the Cleveland Browns at Nissan Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Titans head into the weekend with some injury concerns, though they appear relatively healthy, with only Dorian Mausi declared out ahead of the contest and leaving him on injured reserve for at least another week.
They do have a few players, Calvin Ridley, Tyjae Spears, Tony Adams, and Kevin Winston Jr., listed as questionable heading into the contest. Here’s a look at them and whether or not Titans Wire believes they will play.
Elavations
Tennessee elevated running back Kalel Mullings and wide receiver K.J. Osborne for the contest, a great sign for the safety tandem entering
the weekend questionable, but it sends some mixed signals for the others.
Will Spears play against the Browns?
Spears has battled a nagging knee/ankle injury all season, making him a weekly question mark, and this week is no different, as he's been through every phase of designation. The big change came Friday, when he was limited again with his knee.
Spears hasn’t missed a game in 2026, but there is always a first time, and the way the Titans have built their roster offers little insight. He will likely go again this week and carry the torch on third downs.
Who would replace Spears if he can’t play?
The most logical candidate is veteran Michael Carter, who has a similar skill set to Spears and is already on the 53-man roster. The Titans added him to the active roster after the Week 3 matchup with the New York Giants but haven't used him yet, so he's been inactive on game days.
If they go a different route, they could give rookie Nick Singleton more snaps. Singleton has some game experience in 2026, though he has been inactive for the past two weeks.
Tennessee also elevated Mullings for this contest, but that is likely more for special teams and a specific role than a replacement for Spears.
Will Ridley play against the Browns?
While he wasn’t downgraded to out on Saturday, Ridley likely won't play this week against Cleveland. Ridley missed multiple practices with a hip injury, and the Titans elevated outside receiver K.J. Osborne for the matchup.
Who would replace Ridley if he can’t play?
Wide receivers Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike would likely be first in line, especially Ayomanor, who has already rotated with Ridley throughout the season. Osborne would also get some time, but in a rotational role.
What about the safeties?
Tennessee has two safeties, Adams and Winston, listed as questionable heading into the matchup, and in this case, the weekly elevations matter. Over the past two weeks, the Titans elevated an extra safety when Amani Hooker and Winston were out. Not elevating a safety for the game is a good sign that one or both will play this week.
Who's the next man up?
If either Adams or Winston can’t go, the Titans will likely run more nickel or dime packages and use a combination of Marcus Harris and Alontae Taylor to fill in.
