The Tennessee Titans have been churning their roster over the past couple of days. First, the initial cuts down to 53, followed by a Monday swap of five players.
During the wave of initial cuts, wide receiver Bryce Oliver was an unexpected cut, with the Titans initially keeping wide receiver Xavier Restrepo as the team’s sixth receiver. That move was somewhat of a surprise because Oliver has developed into one of the elite special teamers on the roster.
After not being added to the initial Titans’ 17-man practice squad, many wondered when/if it would happen, and now we know why. Justin Melo of Sports Illustrated reports that Oliver has signed with the Cleveland Browns and will bring his special-teams abilities to their practice squad.

While losing Oliver will potentially hurt the Titans’ special teams depth, the decision to initially keep Restrepo over Oliver did make some sense: Restrepo produced as a slot receiver, while Oliver has never truly established himself as a potential weapon on offense. He flashed since joining the Titans as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2024, but could never put it together consistently.
Tennessee eventually released Restrepo and then re-signed him to the practice squad on Tuesday.
