The Tennessee Titans are on the road for the second week in a row in Week 4. They'll head back to the East Coast to face the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland, at Noon CST.
After two straight weeks of near-wins, the Titans are desperately seeking their first win of the season. It won't be an easy task against the surging Ravens, who are 2-1 through the first three weeks. It's still early in the season, but they are widely viewed as a top-10 team (top-five in some cases).
The Titans can use all the help they can get, so it shouldn't be a surprise that this week's edition of Gimme Him sees a familiar face return to the Titans' sideline. A big part of the Ravens' success lies with former Titans running back Derrick Henry, and
as the two teams face off in Week 4, the Titans would absolutely love to have Henry on their side again.
Henry currently has the fifth-most rushing yards in the league with 301, which is an average of just over 100 yards per game. The Titans' running backs have a total of 271 yards on the ground, combined. Henry leads the league in carries (66) and rushing touchdowns (six) through three weeks, too, and while we love Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, they are not game-changing running backs. Henry is a game-changer, no matter which team he plays for.
With Pollard and Spears both becoming free agents at the end of this season, the Titans have to be questioning their decision to let Henry go elsewhere. If he had remained on this team for the last three seasons instead of donning purple, the Titans' seasons could have been better despite coaching turnover. Henry has the ability, even at the age of 32, to put an NFL team on his back and carry them into the playoffs. The Titans don't have a player like that anywhere on the field right now.
This will be the first time the Titans have faced Henry since he left, and there's no secret that he wants to punish the organization for how they handled his departure. The Titans' defense has done well against the run this season, but Henry will seek to change that this week. Wouldn't it be so much better for the Titans if he were on their side again, instead?
Unfortunately, we all know that's not how this works. It's fun to imagine Henry back in Nashville and the impact he would have on this team with Cam Ward under center. However, the Titans will have to face their former superstar running back as he lines up on the opposite side of the field, and they'll probably eat crow while doing it.
