The Tennessee Titans released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday after an internal review of an incident at their facility on October 15. The team’s statement offered no specifics.
“On Thursday, October 15th, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott. Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter,” the Titans said.
Elliott, who signed a two-year, $8 million deal in the offseason after spending the previous two seasons with Robert Saleh in San Francisco, had played in each of Tennessee’s first five games and registered 11 tackles. He was inactive for Sunday’s win over the Colts after missing Friday’s practice for "personal
reasons."
NFL insider Aaron Wilson now reports that Elliott grew frustrated with offensive tackle JC Latham during Thursday’s practice after the two tangled on a play. The disagreement carried into the locker room.

Elliott was directed off the field, removed his pads, and left the facility. He then went to the players’ parking area and retrieved a firearm from his vehicle, with the sequence captured on security cameras. Veteran defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers intervened, and the situation was de-escalated before any confrontation involving the weapon occurred.
The Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed to A to Z Sports that they received no reports and had no contact from the team regarding the matter.
An anonymous league source told Wilson the episode as an overreaction connected to personal issues Elliott had been dealing with outside the building, noting that the organization was relieved no one was harmed.
"This was so crazy," the NFL source said. "Jordan has been having a lot of problems away from the building and obviously he brought it to work with him. There was no reason for him to go off like that. Everyone thought that was wild. To overreact like that is absolutely crazy. We're just glad that no one got hurt and it's over."
Saleh is expected to address the media on Wednesday.
