Taylor recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to make a bold prediction about Tennessee's revamped secondary, writing:

It's a lofty expectation, but one that reflects the confidence Tennessee hopes will define its new-look defense.
A Fresh Start for Tennessee's Secondary
The Titans made upgrading the secondary one of their top priorities this offseason. After struggling defensively in 2025, the front office brought in both Taylor and Flott to help reshape the cornerback room under new head coach Robert Saleh.
While Alontae Taylor and Cor'dale Flott were signed to big-money deals, the Titans also signed former Kansas City Chiefs CB Joshua Williams as a depth piece. Those three, along with the return of Marcus Harris from a promising rookie season, make Tennessee's revamped corner group intriguing at the very least. Taylor's confidence suggests the players are buying into that vision.
While neither he nor Flott has been widely regarded as one of the league's elite corners, both possess the athleticism and versatility to thrive in the right scheme. Saleh has built some of the NFL's best defenses by maximizing his secondary by allowing his defensive line to generate pressure.
If that formula works again in Tennessee, the cornerbacks could benefit from more hurried throws and additional opportunities to make plays on the football.
