The Tennessee Titans took their fair share of bumps and bruises in a physical Week 3 matchup with the New York Giants, and the severity of some of those injuries is now coming to light.
While the organization has not made any official announcement, NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler reports that sources told him starting guard Fernando Carmona suffered an ankle sprain in the first quarter against the Giants and will miss a few weeks.
While this is not the best outcome for the rookie offensive lineman, it is a better diagnosis than it initially looked when Carmona was carted off to the locker room, and it should allow for him to return to the lineup at some point in 2026.

The Titans have not released any statement on Carmona’s status; it will be interesting to see whether they place him on short-term injured reserve to free up a roster spot for a few weeks as he recovers. Of course, this is complicated by the potential significant foot injury suffered by Jackson Slater, which could turn over the right guard position to either Atonio Mafi, Garrett Dellinger, or possibly even Pat Coogan moving forward.
Tennessee will be back on the practice field on Wednesday, and a detailed update should be released sometime soon.
