There are not too many teams that have a clear No. 1 running back. However, the Tennessee Titans are one of those teams, which puts running back Tony Pollard in a good position to have decent fantasy production this season.
In fact, CBS fantasy analyst Ross Kelly identified Pollard as a potential sleeper in fantasy, saying:
“Another sleeper that SportsLine's Fantasy football rankings 2026 have identified: Titans running back Tony Pollard. The 29-year-old has now cleared 1,000 rushing yards in four straight seasons -- two of those with the Cowboys and two with the Titans. Backs approaching age 30 often fall out of favor in Fantasy, but Pollard actually surged late in 2025, averaging 100 yards per game and scoring three total times in the last five
weeks of the season.
The Titans could take a big step forward in the passing game this year, possibly opening up more room for Pollard. He's going off the board around pick No. 70, making him the RB27, but SportsLine's model has him in the same tier as backs being picked earlier like TreVeyon Henderson and Rico Dowdle.”
The fact that Pollard is going off the board as the No. 70 overall player is probably more of a reflection of the team he is on. It is no secret that Tennessee struggled last year, which is why they have a new head coach, Robert Saleh, and personnel to help bring quarterback Cam Ward along. However, the best thing to help a quarterback develop is to have a solid run game.
Tennessee did not make an effort to significantly change their running back room. On their unofficial depth chart, Tyjae Spears is listed as the No. 2 running back despite only putting up 283 rushing yards over 13 games last year. This shows the coaching staff’s confidence in Pollard to be the unquestioned starter once again, which inevitably leads to solid fantasy production. He is a strong sleeper candidate that fantasy owners can currently get in later rounds of their drafts.
