The Tennessee Titans will try to get back on track on Sunday as they travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts in Week 6.
The Titans completely imploded against the Houston Texans in Week 5 and clearly took a step back against their division rivals. Cam Ward and the offense were bad, but the futility was a team effort that reaches from the press box to offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. Tennessee’s defense was better than the offense, but that isn’t much to ask.
This will not be easy, and the Titans enter the week as heavy underdogs again. But to move forward and finally break into the win column, they need to start executing, and one of their leaders needs to step up and make a game-changing play.
Here are the top five storylines in the Titans-Colts
Week 6 matchup.
Is Dan Moore the worst left tackle in the NFL?
Calling Moore's outing against the Texans rough would be an understatement. Texans' edge, Danielle Hunter, completely manhandled Moore. Between his inability to hold up in pass protection and penalties, Moore completely decimated Tennessee’s game plan.
The Titans gave Moore an $82 million mega contract in 2025 as a free agent, and he hasn't shown anything but a few viral videos of his on-field abilities to justify it. With a potential out this offseason, Moore may be playing himself out of Nashville with every snap.
Is the problem Cam Ward, or is it Brian Daboll?
This is a huge debate on social media, and many different perspectives are floating around. You can argue either way, but Ward isn't the only reason the offense is struggling. Even head coach Robert Saleh has addressed some major issues and highlighted one that weighs heavily on fans: the lack of identity, and it falls completely on Daboll.
The Titans’ offense has struggled all season, and Ward appears to have regressed in his second season, looking nothing like the quarterback that finished 2025 under Bo Hardegree.
With no signs that Tennessee will move on from Ward soon, the Ward vs. Daboll debate may be far from over.
Is it time to trade Jeffery Simmons?
With all the struggles Tennessee has had in 2026, some fans and media outlets have speculated that Tennessee should go into full rebuild mode and trade their star defender.
While a move like this seems unlikely, it is something to monitor in the coming weeks if things don’t turn around.
Another AFC South matchup
Division matchups are always important, and the Titans have said being competitive and winning in their division is one of the organization's biggest goals. The Titans failed miserably in their first divisional matchup with Houston, are on an extended losing streak in the AFC South, and need to turn things around.
Does Amy Adams Strunk or spokesperson Burke Nihill need to speak?
The Titans have made some business-side front-office changes in the past few weeks, and now some Nashville media outlets are stirring the pot, calling for a statement on the disappointing start to the season.
While there is a lot of disappointment and frustration, a statement or interview from Strunk or Nihill won't fix the deficiencies on the field. When Strunk streamlined the organization before the coaching search, she stated that the general manager, Mike Borgonzi, had full control of football operations and reported directly to her.
Yes, Titans fans (and especially the local media) are frustrated by the silence about the rough start, but there is no need to burn the organization down, and everyone needs to realize that neither Strunk nor Nihill has to cater to their demands.
Ironically, if Strunk or Nihill had a hand in every decision the team made on the field, like some other owners, these same voices stirring the pot would be screaming to keep them focused on business. That’s life in the NFL when losing.
