Even though the Tennessee Titans (0-1) have gotten off to a rough start to begin the 2026 NFL season, fantasy football is still driving plenty of fans to turn into this game.
After dropping the home opener in Week 1, the Titans have the incredibly difficult task of hosting the a Philadelphia Eagles team that is looking to begin their season 2-0. The Titans didn't give much of an encouraging outing Robert Saleh's debut as Tennessee's head coach so there isn't much hope in turning things around this week.
Still, there are some fantasy football decisions to make when it comes to this matchup. Players who should be in starting lineups without consideration include: Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver DeVonta
Smith.
Here's a look at some start/sit decisions for fantasy football ahead of this Week 2 matchup:
Start: Eagles TE Dallas Goedert
Given the state of the tight end position as a whole in fantasy football, Goedert proabably could've been included in the above group that are must-starts. Finally getting a chance to be the No. 2 pass-catching option in the offense, Goedert did not disappoint in Week 1, finishing with four receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns. The Titans defense allowed a touchdown to rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq in Week 1 so Goedert should be in a strong position.
Sit: Titans QB Cam Ward
There's no reason to put Ward in any starting lineup for fantasy football purposes — unless that manager is already tanking the season. Ward didn't give us much encouragement during the season opener, posting just 140 passing yards and one touchdown. Maybe things get better as the season goes, but he's going to struggle big time against Vic Fangio's defense.
Start: Eagles WR Dontayvion Wicks
Wicks is not a must-start, but he's certainly in consideration for a flex spot. Coming over from the Green Bay Packers this offseason, Wicks ran the second most routes (31) for the Eagles in Week 1, per Pro Football Focus, only two behind the aforementioned Smith. He's the clear No. 2 wideout behind Smith, and his 2-73-1 line proved he can be a high-ceiling option for those in need.
Sit: Titans WR Carnell Tate
It was a meager debut for the rookie wideout. Though his future is still promising, he managed just four receptions for 38 yards on a team-high 36 routes, per PFF. Managers used some decent draft capital on the No. 4 overall pick so he shouldn't be dropped just yet. However, it's difficult to trust him in starting lineups until the passing game shows some life.
Sit: Titans running backs
Yes, basically we're saying to sit all Titans players in fantasy football. That includes the duo of Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears in the backfield. Neither one has a strong hold on a prominant role, which means this rotation is just going to eat into itself. Pollard posted 35 rushing yards on seven carries while seeing just two targets. Spears had just 12 rushing yards on three carries while seeing four targets in the passing game. Just avoid these two altogether.
