Stats for an impactful defensive lineman don’t tell the whole story. That’s true for Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, who is making his presence felt early in the 2026 NFL season, even if the game stats don't show it.
Simmons has one sack, three QB Hits, and 10 total tackles through the Titans’ first two games this season. However, advanced stats show he is dominating in a way that doesn't show up until you turn on the tape.

two games, Simmons leads the NFL with 19 pass rush wins, according to data pulled by ESPN NFL Analyst Seth Walder. That number puts the Tennessee star at the top of the league’s leaderboard, with room to spare, after the first two weeks of the regular season.
Simmons is wrecking opposing offensive lines
After the Titans’ Week 2 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Simmons drew attention for his comments about making Eagles QB Jalen Hurtsplay quarterback to beat them. Hurts made sure to let him know in their postgame handshake that he had to finish the job after Simmons’ initial trash talk.
However, Simmons did his part: he totaled six tackles, and his one sack and three QB hits of the season came in that game. He also led the Titansin QB pressures with seven.
Simmons’ dominance isn’t surprising, after a career year earned him NFL First-Team All-Pro honors last season. Now, Simmons appears to have taken another step forward under head coach Robert Saleh. The Titans are 0-2 after losses to the Jets and Eagles, but Simmons’ early-season production gives Tennessee a disruptive force to build around as the season continues.
