Now that the Tennessee Titans have kicked off training camp, a lot of eyes will be on second-year edge rusher Femi Oladejo.
Raw but talented, Oladejo missed most of his rookie season after fracturing his leg, costing him valuable reps and experience. After missing a stretch of offseason team activities due to injury, many were left to wonder about his future and fit in the new Robert Saleh defense.
Now, in camp, Oladajo physically looks the part of a prototype edge in the system, and the attacking style may fit his skill set. When asked about the new staff and the practice intensity, he offered a positive take.

“It’s incredible; it
helps tremendously. I think when I moved to EDGE in college at UCLA, that was just going straight, so being an assistant is similar, right? Just go straight and not faint,” Oladejo said when asked about the practice intensity. “That’s incredible; that’s how we compete.”
This attitude mirrors everything other players have said about the intensity and physicality Saleh and his staff, specifically defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton, bring to the organization. Still developing as an edge, Oladejo has a chance to carve out a role in this scheme, and the direct approach may allow him to just play free and not overthink. He is definitely in a place to succeed and could surprise.
