The Tennessee Titans may have rookies at the team facility getting their first taste of NFL training camp, but that didn’t stop them from making another move to bolster depth in the defensive backfield.
On Friday, the Titans agreed to terms with former Kansas City Chiefs free agent defensive back Nazeeh Johnson. The 28-year-old cornerback had visited with the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants earlier in the offseason, but now is reunited with cornerback Joshua Williams and Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi, who was in the Chiefs front office when he was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft after his college career at Marshall.

Known as a hard worker, rising from a college walk-on to an NFL draft pick, Johnson has spent his entire NFL career with the Chiefs, though he has been hit with injuries, missing all of 2023 with a torn ACL and the majority of 2025 with a shoulder injury. In all, he has been a solid backup defensive back and core special-teamer, recording 66 tackles and one sack in 29 career games, making six starts over that span.
He will now join the Titans to compete for a role in a new-look secondary that could use some veteran depth behind Williams, Alontae Taylor, Cor’Dale Flott, and Marcus Harris, or even at safety behind Amani Hooker, Kevin Winston Jr., and Tony Adams, where Hooker will open camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
