The internet did not invent the idea that a 0-4 team playing another 0-4 team is a hard sell. It just put a logo on it.
On Monday, NFL Memes jokingly suggested the Houston Texans
’ visit to the Tennessee Titans on October 11 ought to be flexed to The Weather Channel. This meme hits hard because it is usually a solid rivalry game due to the shared history of the organizations, and now in 2026, it’s a matchup of bottom feeders. The game will have little national interest, and the Weather Channel summed it up in four words: “I’m gonna pass.”
I’m gonna pass
— The Weather Channel (@weatherchannel) October 5, 2026
This response from the Weather Channel could be a low point for one of the better rivalries in the AFC South, and one that everyone, including fans from both franchises, can agree with.
None of that
changes the schedule. The Titans will still host their rivals. The Titans remain winless after a 24-18 loss to the Ravens in Week 4, and the offense hasn't produced a clear identity under Cam Ward. Saleh continues to stand behind Ward and the offense, even defending the red-zone play calling that has drawn the most noise and frustrated some fans.
Houston comes into Nashville mired in a slump, and not the team many expected to see in Nashville when the schedule was released in August. It is also not a free win. Division games do not care what a meme account thinks of the national window. A fifth straight loss, for either team, would be devastating.
The Weather Channel’s pass is funny because it accurately describes the product. Two teams that haven't won a game wouldn’t be considered flex candidates on the best day. Networks move games when the stakes are obvious, and the names travel. This one travels as a punchline and nothing else.
So the flex stays where it is. The Weather Channel keeps the radar. The Titans get the Texans in their own building, both sides still looking for a first win, and the only broadcast that counts is the one that ends with a score.
