The Tennessee Titans laid an egg against the New York Jets in Week 1, and nothing went right in any phase of the game. The Jets outplayed the Titans, and worst of all, out-physicaled them, and for one member of the Titans, that wasn’t the worst news of the week.
On Saturday, the Gameday Accountability Office announced it was fining Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley $12,537 for unnecessary roughness (striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing) on an unpenalized first-quarter play. If Ridley receives another similar penalty, his second infraction will rise to $18,507.

In breaking down the game tape, the infraction likely
came on a play with Will McDonald IV, where it appears Ridley threw a punch at the defender.

This is the Titans' first fine of the 2026 season. In 2025, Tennessee racked up more than $160,000 in fines throughout the season. That was roughly four percent of the league's average annual total ($4 million) of fines, which are then donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation to further support the health, safety, and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game.
