The Tennessee Titans reported to training camp on Tuesday, and as veterans were settling in, general manager Mike Borgonzi and head coach Robert Saleh met with the media and dropped some nuggets.
One of the topics they touched on was the quarterback position and their goal of building around Cam Ward, who, by their own accounts, is the unquestioned leader of the offense. Saleh made it clear by stating, “Cam is our quarterback.” But that doesn’t mean there won’t be a quarterback competition during training camp.

When asked how he planned to divide quarterback reps during camp, Saleh said he would give both Will Levis
and Mitch Trubisky a shot at earning the backup role behind Ward. Saying, “We’re gonna give Trubisky and Levis opportunities to work for the No. 2 spot.”
On top of that quarterback competition statement, Borgonzi made it clear that he is also open to keeping three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, saying it will clearly come down to the best 53 during final cuts.

That statement could be posturing ahead of camp, but it definitely throws down the gauntlet for both Levis and Trubisky to battle it out for a spot on the roster if they play well.
The Titans will take to the field later today for the first workout of the 2026 training camp, and while it won’t be in pads, the reps and competition for the backup quarterback role will officially kick off.
