The Tennessee Titans hit the field to begin preparations for their Week 1 matchup with the New York Jets, and many players had a chance to speak with the media.
One of the players who held court was second-year quarterback Cam Ward, who spoke about the offense on multiple topics as the team prepares to face the Jets. When asked about the difference between his rookie season and now, Ward shared some interesting observations about where the offense is heading into the season.

“Oh, I think more prepared early in the week; Coach Davis and Coach Hayes helped me with. You know, already knowing the idea of what we have going into the game, what we think they’re
going to run.” Ward said, “I think we’re very prepared; we’re ready to take the challenge.”
Ward is no doubt under the microscope as he enters his second season. The former first-overall pick had an uneven rookie season, and unfortunately, it’s impossible at this point in his career to objectively grade his performance as a rookie. But what is known is that Ward and the offense must be better.
General manager Mike Borgonzi and head coach Robert Saleh understood this and not only added weapons around their young quarterback, but also upgraded the offensive coaching staff behind offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. On Sunday, everyone will see whether that investment has paid off.
