The Tennessee Titans were back at the facility on Wednesday, and the coaches and players were overwhelmed with talk about the Jacob Elliott incident and subsequent release. The locker room is emotional, and some players have opened up about their feelings or relationships with Elliott and how they are coping with the situation.
One player who spoke with the media was star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons; while he offered support for Elliott, he also focused on Sunday’s matchup with the Cleveland Browns and shared thoughts on mental health.

“People always talk about ‘Oh, mental health,’ when bad things happen. But I think it’s the truth. We all deal with things off
the field. I would say, just for guys in the locker room, guys around the NFL, it’s OK to talk to people. One split-second decision can always affect your life; you just never know.”
Simmons’ comments also echoed sentiments about Elliott over the past 24 hours, speaking as a friend and teammate and reflecting the shock of what happened that afternoon at the facility. And like many, Simmons hopes Elliott gets the help he needs moving forward.
