Tempers flared during the joint practice between the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears on Thursday at Vanderbilt Football Health Center, after former Titans safety Xavier Woods took what appears to be a cheap shot at wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson.
After the hit, his teammates, led by Austin Schlottmann, Chimere Dike, and Elic Ayomanor, came to his defense, and the fracas began.

While no one wants to see players hurt on a mindless play, the reaction by his fellow receivers, specifically Ayomanor, was clearly honorable, and it again shows the significant leap the receiver is taking heading into his second season. Ayomanor had Robinson’s back and, from the video, wanted to defend his teammate at all costs.
Robinson left
practice and is being evaluated for a concussion, and although quarterback Cam Ward, who took responsibility for the off-target throw, said in his press availability that Robinson is fine, it would be a surprise to see him play in the preseason finale on Saturday night. The Titans already know what Robinson can do, and could use those snaps to get Chimere Dike and Xavier Restrepo some quality reps.
