The Tennessee Titans have their first road game this Sunday when they face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The Titans opened their season with two straight losses. The Giants are 1-1, but they'll be without starting quarterback Jaxson Dart for potentially the remainder of the season. Backup quarterback Jameis Winston struggled to move the ball down the field against the Los Angeles Rams after Dart left the game, which is something the Titans need to capitalize on this week.
One thing that would help the Titans capitalize on Winston's struggles would be if they could steal Giants linebacker Brian Burns.
Burns hasn't been as effective through the Giants' first two games as we are used to seeing, but picture
him lined up alongside Anthony Hill Jr. and Cedric Gray. Obviously, Gray or Burns would have to switch sides, but that is a trio that will make an NFL quarterback question their life choices.
In 2025, Burns recorded 16.5 sacks, second only to Myles Garrett, who had 23. Jeffery Simmons led the Titans in sacks in 2025 with 11. The leading edge rusher? Jihad Ward with five.
The Titans have a better edge presence in 2026, but with Burns on their side, this defense could be very scary. Hill has leaped to the forefront of this defense and led the team in tackles both weeks. He actually leads the NFL in tackles right now. He's been as disruptive in the middle of the field as Simmons has been on the line, and with his ability to be exactly where he needs to be, if a guy like Burns can pressure the quarterback, opposing offenses aren't going to get far.
Too bad we can't actually steal a player from the Giants because it would be really fun to see what the defense could do with Burns on their side.
Still, the Titans have a real shot at their first win of the season on Sunday against a Dart-less Giants team, especially after the Philadelphia Eagles required the officials' help to beat them in Week 2.
