By now, the injury concerns surrounding the Tennessee Titans after their 12-7 loss to the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday are well documented. The Titans lost starting guard Fernando Carmona early on, and his replacement, Jackson Slater, finished the game but was diagnosed with a significant foot injury.
On Tuesday, the Titans announced that the worst-case scenario has happened and placed both Carmona and Slater on injured reserve, meaning both will miss at least the next four weeks. To fill their spots on the active 53-man roster, Tennessee signed guard Garrett Dellinger and running back Michael Carter from the practice squad.

With Carmona and Slater now on injured reserve, the Titans must fill both the starting right guard and swing interior lineman roles heading into Week 4. Dellinger will likely battle Atonio Mafi and potentially Pat Coogan to take over the right guard position in the short term, while also battling to take over the swing interior offensive lineman moving forward.
This move could also give some insight into running back Tyjae Spears’ ankle. Carter had been elevated on Sunday, although he was left inactive when Spears’ ankle passed pregame testing. Although Spears finished the game against the Giants, he missed some snaps after aggravating the injury during the contest.
The Titans also added offensive lineman Nick Broeker, defensive back Jakob Robinson, and linebacker Owen Pappoe to the practice squad.
