The Tennessee Titans' early-season struggles have created awkward moments on social media, as fans lash out at their 0-3 start to 2026.
While there is a lot of blame to go around for this disappointing start, Cam Ward has found himself in the crosshairs after a shaky performance against the New York Giants. Unfortunately, the hostilities have started to spill over to Ward’s family, as frustrated fans have begun sending threatening messages to them.
On Wednesday, Ward spoke about the issue for the first time since his sister, Chantel Ward, addressed these threats on social media.
"Criticize the game, criticize a play, be frustrated with your team. That's sports, and I completely understand that. But seeking out a player's sister, parents, or other
family members to personally attack them because you're upset about what happened on a football field is something completely different."
Ward is absolutely right about this. There is no place in society, or on social media, to attack family members for what transpires in a game. Sure, it’s okay to be passionate about the NFL or the Titans, but that passion should never boil over into hostilities or threats of any kind, in person or on social media.
Yes, Ward has been uneven early in his career, and his fourth-quarter performance against the Giants hurt the Titans and cost them a victory. But at the end of the day, this is a game, and at least in 2026, Tennessee will only go as far as Ward will take them.
