This Sunday, the Tennessee Titans open the 2026 NFL season when they host the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. CST, and the Titans look to start their season off with a win on their home turf.
Ahead of the game, it's always fun to take a look at the other team's roster and see if any of their starters would be worth replacing a Titans starter. With the Jets, though, there aren't a lot of options. They don't have any big names on their roster who jump out and scream, "Come get me!" So, we had a hard time deciding who to pick from this game.
Certainly, Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson garner consideration. Both are solid players at their position and are the top two players on the Jets' roster.
However, the Titans are pretty set at running back and wide receiver, so we took another look and decided that Olu Fashanu would be the guy.
Fashanu is a third-year offensive lineman out of Penn State. While with the Nittany Lions, Fashanu was a Consensus All-American, the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year, and received first-team All-Big Ten honors. All three of those awards were in 2023, and in 2022, he was second-team All-Big Ten. The Jets drafted Fashanu in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and he earned the starting left tackle role near the end of his rookie campaign when Tyron Smith was injured.
Titans' left tackle Dan Moore Jr. is aging, and while his play on the field has mostly been sufficient, Fashanu's 2025 season was far better than Moore's. Pro Football Focus graded Fashanu better than Moore in both pass blocking (74.5 vs. 62.5) and overall (69.2 vs. 62.0). Fashanu took more snaps than Moore, allowed fewer sacks, fewer pressures, and had fewer penalties.
Protecting Cam Ward is the ultimate goal of an offensive lineman, and Moore hasn't been completely terrible, but the Titans could certainly use a boost on the left. Plus, imagine Fashanu lining up next to Peter Skoronski. Ward would seldom have to worry about an attack from that side. There are always going to be times when the line breaks, but the Fashanu and Skoronski combination is incredibly intriguing.
So, for Titans Wire's first edition of Gimme Him in 2026, we select Jets offensive lineman Olu Fashanu.
