And just like that, Tennessee Titans’ training camp has kicked off with players scheduled to take to the field for their first workout in the four-day NFL acclimation period on Wednesday.
During their pre-training camp press conference, general manager Mike Borgonzi and head coach Robert Saleh met with the media, opened up on numerous topics, and started with a quick injury update.
After announcing that safety Amani Hooker was being activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list ahead of the first practice, Borgonzi released an update on starting right tackle JC Latham.
#Titans will be moving Amani Hooker off the PUP today. JC Latham will still start camp on PUP with a pec strain and is “day to day” per Mike Borgonzi.@FOXNashville #Titans #Titanup

Tennessee will list Latham as day-to-day with a pec strain sustained during offseason team activities. No details about exactly when the injury occurred or an expected timeframe for his return were given.
His recovery from injury and transition back onto the field will be an important area to monitor moving forward. This is a big season for Latham, and his growth and performance will be key not only for the Titans’ success, but for his future in Nashville. Entering his third season, Tennessee will have to decide on Latham’s fifth-year option during the offseason, and he will need to show consistency and growth during the year to make sure there is at least a conversation on the option.
