Last week, the Tennessee Titans surprised many by trading Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears for a massive draft haul, and on Monday Night, fans had to watch Simmons take the field in orange sleeves and lead the Bears’ defense.
In July, Simmons sat down with Terron Armstead on his show, The Set, and discussed multiple topics. Now, after the shocking trade to the Bears, that interview has resurfaced, complete with some interesting comments on his value.
“I don’t care who you bring in. You can’t replace me.”

Jeffery Simmons knows his worth, and 2 firsts might not be enough for the Titans to replace him 😤

“My goal is that
when I walk into that building, go draft you a D-tackle number one overall," he said. "Go draft you a D-tackle top 10. But the value that I bring, my mindset is I’m gonna be so valuable that I don’t care who you go try to bring in that I am; you can’t replace me until I say I’m retired or until I’m injured or whatever may happen, which we know is the nature of the game of football. But the way I try to attack, the way I try to go about my business, especially training in the offseason and taking care of my body, is by being a leader.”
Simmons is absolutely on point; no one can replace his impact on the field, in the locker room, or in the community. No amount of draft capital can replace the league's top defensive tackle, but it also won’t change his legacy with Nashville or the organization.
