The Tennessee Titans will go back into the lab to figure out what went wrong in their 23-10 loss to the New York Jets this week and try to turn the page with a game plan to compete with the Philadelphia Eagles.
To bounce back, the Titans need to get the defense going, especially the defensive front, where their massive offseason investment fell flat against the Jets.
Heading into the season, many believed the defensive line, led by Jeffery Simmons and new addition John Franklin-Myers, would be a strength. However, against the Jets, they weren’t even close, providing zero pass rush and allowing the Jets' rushing attack to control the line of scrimmage.
Fortunately for the Titans’ defensive line, Philadelphia will be without one of its best offensive
linemen this week, which could create favorable interior matchups.
On Monday, the Eagles announced they are placing starting left guard Landon Dickerson on injured reserve (IR) with a knee injury. In his absence, Philadelphia will likely choose between Drew Kendall and Willie Lampkin to start at left guard against the Titans and their high-priced interior.

While this may look like a small advantage for the Titans, after their preseason and Jets performance, it’s hard to tell whether it will make a difference. Throughout training camp and into the regular season, the highly touted defensive front has been a major disappointment, and the Titans must turn things around if they want to succeed.
