The Tennessee Titans lost another heartbreaker to the New York Giants on Sunday, and once again the spotlight is squarely on quarterback Cam Ward and the offense.
Yes, Ward led the Titans to within striking distance, but between an errant fourth-down pass in the end zone early in the fourth quarter and a forced interception in the waning seconds, the pressure on the young quarterback is starting to build, and so are the questions about his future.
On the final series, Ward looked poised up until the interception, where he clearly forced a throw instead of throwing the ball away and taking another shot. Head coach Robert Saleh pointed this out in his post-game presser.

“You have to be smarter with the football when you have two timeouts left.”
Saleh is spot on. 17 seconds with two timeouts in your pocket gives the offense plenty of time and options with the ball inside the five-yard line.
This poor decision, coupled with the uneven play, has some wondering whether Saleh might turn to backup Mitch Trubisky at some point to give Ward a chance to decompress. But Saleh downplayed that after talking about the interception.

Ward will definitely have to quickly put this behind him and start performing like a first-overall selection and franchise face. Now, at the start of his second season, that was a chance to prove he can be a winning quarterback in the NFL; instead, he fell short in the biggest moment of his young career.
