What is the story about?

Charlotte Hornets broadcaster Eric Collins is returning to television sooner than expected. Although the Hornets begin their regular season Oct. 21 against the Brooklyn Nets, Collins will be in the broadcast booth for FOX this Sunday, Oct. 11. Collins will be on the call for his second career NFL game, a contest between the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals. Collins will be joined by 12-year NFL veteran and current broadcast analyst Mark Schlereth, who spent his playing career with Washington and Denver.

While Collins doesn't usually leave his longtime NBA partner Dell Curry, he occasionally dabbles in other sporting events. This offseason, Collins stayed busy, announcing softball on CBS and a Major League Baseball game between the Texas

Rangers and Washington Nationals on FOX.

Collins' first career NFL broadcast came during the 2025 season, where the Carolina Panthers defeated the Miami Dolphins 27-24 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
