The Charlotte Hornets announced unfortunate injury news Friday afternoon, as both Grant Williams and Kon Knueppel are sidelined with hamstring injuries. Williams, a seven-year veteran, played just 36 games for Charlotte last season after recovering from an ACL injury. Williams' current injury is a right hamstring injury suffered during on-court activity, per the Hornets.
As for Knueppel, his injury is a left hamstring issue. Knueppel, a former No. 4 overall pick, was one of the league's most durable rookies last season, appearing in 81 of 82 games a season ago. The former Duke forward averaged 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.7 steals. Both players are expected to miss all preseason games and are to be re-evaluated during the first
week of the regular season.
Charlotte begins their preseason on October 6 at Spectrum Center against the Brooklyn Nets.
