Washington Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa will miss his fourth straight game on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets because of a left ankle sprain, according to the team's injury report.
Dybantsa sustained the injury in the Wizards' preseason finale on Oct. 16 against the New Orleans Pelicans after landing awkwardly on the court. He was ruled out of returning as a precaution, recording 12 points and two rebounds in 15 minutes.
The No. 1 overall pick, who has missed the first three games of the regular season, has taken some shots in practice this week. He is still considered day-to-day with the injury, coach Brian Keefe said on Saturday, according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
With AJ Dybantsa out tonight because of his sprained left ankle, I asked
Brian Keefe here in Chicago whether he anticipates Dybantsa to play on Monday in Charlotte or Wednesday in Cleveland. Keefe answered that the team is “still evaluating [AJ] one day at a time right now.”

Dybantsa finished the preseason averaging 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 43.9% from the field in four games. He scored 11 or more points in each appearance, including two 13-point performances.
The 19-year-old joins a team that added veterans Anthony Davis and Trae Young last season and, over the offseason, acquired Deandre Ayton and Khris Middleton to pair with a young core. He believes those veterans will help him have a smooth transition this season.
Dybantsa had a productive training camp and is working diligently to be ready to debut with the team. After facing the Hornets, the Wizards (2-1) wrap up their three-game road trip Wednesday in Cleveland.
