Ahead of Wednesday night's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, the Charlotte Hornets were eager to welcome back Kon Knueppel, who returned to the starting lineup after missing the first eight games due to injury. Unfortunately for Knueppel and Hornets fans, things didn't quite go to plan. Only six minutes into his 2026-27 season debut, Knueppel was forced to leave the game with left leg soreness. Knueppel's left leg also gave him trouble to begin the year, as he was originally sidelined due to a left hamstring strain. Upon returning from the locker room, Knueppel was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Prior to his departure, the former Duke forward was 0-for-1 from the field but did convert three free throws for his first points of the season.
At the time of publishing, the Hornets have a 57-50 lead against Brooklyn at the half.
