What is the story about?

The Charlotte Hornets acquired veteran guard Jeff McInnis in January of 2007 for former Michigan alum Bernard Robinson, giving the McInnis (a Charlotte native) a chance to play for his hometown team. McInnis played his college basketball at UNC, earning two All-ACC selections and averaging 16.5 points, 5.5 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals in his junior season with the Tar Heels. Following that season, McInnis was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the No. 37 overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft.

Wearing the No. 0 in 92 contests for the Bobcats, Innis averaged 4.4 points, 3.7 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 0.4 steals in 23 minutes per game. Following his age-33 season during the 2007-08 campaign, McInnis was unable to land another NBA contract,

ending his career after 11 seasons.
