To begin the 2026-27 NBA season, rookie forward Koa Peat has yet to break into Jordan Ott's rotation with the Phoenix Suns. Thus far, the recent No. 30 overall pick has played in four games, averaging 3.5 minutes per contest. However, that may change soon, as Ott eluded to the Arizona product receiving increased opportunities.
Following the Suns' win over the Magic Thursday night, Ott told reporters that Peat is "on the cusp" of playing. Listed at 6'8" and 235 pounds, Ott indicated that Peat could offer Phoenix more size and physicality in the frontcourt, with more versatility opposed to their centers, Oso Ighodaro and Khaman Maluach. During his freshman season with the Wildcats, Peat averaged 14.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.7 blocks
and 0.6 steals, earning an All-Big 12 selection.
Having snapped a four-game losing streak Thursday, Peat and the Suns will have Friday off before facing the 7-2 Houston Rockets Saturday.
