Similar to Kon Knueppel's hamstring injury, one of the biggest talking points entering media day for the Charlotte Hornets was the status of Brandon Miller, having underwent shoulder surgery in May. Charlotte's leading scorer last season, Miller addressed the procedure and gave an update on his health entering the 2026-27 campaign.
"It's been a long summer with the labrum surgery. I'm back and doing a lot better. The most important part of this process was staying connected with my teammates." Entering camp, Miller has added more muscle, listed at 210 pounds as opposed to when he entered camp last season at 200. Additionally, the former Alabama forward revealed that he's been doing full-contact workouts for the last three weeks, making it likely
that he'll enter the season without an injury designation.
Lastly, Miller disclosed that he won't be wearing the shoulder wrap this season that fans have grown accustomed to seeing him with.
Hornets general manager Jeff Peterson also commented on Miller's progress, saying, "Brandon (Miller)'s been amazing this summer. He's worked his butt off in the weight room, on the court, (I) love the progress that he's making."
"Right now he's expected to be a full participant. We will continue to monitor him throughout camp, but (I'm) really excited for him."
Averaging 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, one steal and 0.7 blocks last season, Hornets fans are hopeful to see Miller take another leap in his fourth NBA season.
