The Charlotte Hornets
traded for second-round draft pick and North Carolina native Devonte' Graham on draft night during the 2018 NBA Draft. Graham, who was originally selected by the Atlanta Hawks, was traded to Charlotte for two future second-round picks. While he only spent three seasons with the Hornets, Graham was one of the team's most notable second-round success stories in recent franchise history. In 164 games, the former Kansas Jayhawks point guard made 100 starts, averaging 13.3 points, 5.4 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 0.8 steals. His strongest campaign came during the 2019-2020 season, where Graham averaged 18.2 points, 7.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds and one steal while shooting 37.3% from beyond the arc. The Hornets would later negotiate
a sign-and-trade deal with Graham, sending him to the New Orleans Pelicans. Now, 31 years old, Graham hasn't played at the NBA level since the 2023-24 season, when he made 23 appearances for the San Antonio Spurs.
Graham is currently a free agent after playing EuroLeague basketball during the 2025-26 season.
