Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg registered another 30-point performance on Sunday, leading the Golden State Warriors to a home victory over the LA Clippers.
Lendeborg produced a game-high 37 points, six assists, four rebounds and one steal in the 124-112 win at the Chase Center. He finished by shooting 13-for-19 from the field, including six 3-pointers, and was a plus-six in nearly 34 minutes.
The 11th overall pick became the first Warriors rookie to score at least 35 points in a game since Stephen Curry (Nov. 1, 2010; 42). He was pleased to bounce back from a six-point effort on Friday in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
"I 100% wanted to switch that up," Lendeborg said, referencing his last game. "That's not who I am. Last game, I was playing like a Debbie
Downer. I just got to go back to playing like the way I always play, with a lot of joy, smiles, dancing and all of that other stuff. I just got to get back to being me. That was an awful game. I dwelled on it as long as I could. Once I made one today, I was like, 'OK, that game didn't happen anymore.'"

Lendeborg is averaging 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 40.9% from 3-point range in seven appearances. He is second in rookie scoring and is one of two first-year players with multiple 30-point games (Darius Acuff Jr.).
The 24-year-old has emerged as a starter for the short-handed Warriors, adding offensive versatility and a strong rebounding presence. He is also putting tremendous pressure on the rim and creating opportunities to get to the free-throw line.
Lendeborg is embracing his role early on and working diligently to improve nightly. He's liked how he's performed in some areas, while actively working to improve in others to help the team continue without Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler III.
"I watch a lot of film on myself," Lendeborg said. "I'm my worst critic ever. I've always been my worst judge. One thing I'm actually proud of myself on is my 3-point shot diet. ... Something I want to get better on is my assists. I had hopes of getting to like five assists a game, and I'm at two or three, so I'm going to try getting that up as much as I can."
