Throughout the 2026 offseason, many players from the 2023 NBA Draft class have been eyeing contract extensions, entering the final season of their rookie deals. A handful of players have already secured new deals from the teams that drafted them, including Victor Wembanyama, Amen Thompson and Brandin Podziemski, who extended with the Warriors Saturday.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller could be the next young star to come to terms on a new deal. Stein also reported that Miller's deal could exceed the five-year $208 million deal signed by the aforementioned Thompson. Despite suffering injuries during his sophomore campaign, Miller has been a steady contributor since being selected with the No. 2 overall
pick in 2023.
Last season, the former Alabama forward led the team in scoring, averaging 20.2 points to go along with 4.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, one steal and 0.7 blocks while shooting a career-high 38.3% from beyond the arc.
Entering the 2026-27 campaign, Miller is expected to be the focal point of Charlotte's offense alongside Kon Knueppel, giving him an opportunity to leap into the Eastern Conference All-Star conversation.
