Prior to the 2026-27 NBA season, sports media outlets are unveiling their list of the NBA's best players. HoopsHype was the most recent outlet to do so, listing the top-100 players and including four representatives of the Charlotte Hornets.
89. Coby White
Ahead of his first full season in Charlotte, this time as a starter, former UNC guard Coby White cracked the top-90. Taking over for LaMelo Ball, White will have the chance to improve upon his career averages of 15.4 points, 3.9 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 0.7 steals per game. In 21 games for the Hornets last season, following a trade from the Chicago Bulls, White averaged 15.6 points, three rebounds, three assists and 0.2 steals off the bench.
79. Naz Reid
Recent trade acquisition Naz Reid placed 10 spots above his new
teammate, Coby White, finding himself in the top-80. A former Sixth Man of the Year Award winner with the Minnesota Timberwolves, expectations are high for Reid as a full-time starter with Charlotte. To this point in his career, the former LSU big man has played seven seasons and holds career averages of 11.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, one steal and one block.
55. Brandon Miller
As opposed to the top-100 list put out by ESPN, former Alabama guard Brandon Miller ranks behind Kon Knueppel according to HoopsHype. Despite battling a shoulder injury last year, Miller led the Hornets in scoring, averaging 20.2 points per game. He added 4.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, one steal and 0.7 blocks while shooting a career-high mark of 38.3% from 3-point range. Approaching his fourth NBA season, pressure will be on Miller to lead Charlotte's offense.
37. Kon Knueppel
Former Duke forward Kon Knueppel had a tremendous rookie campaign by all accounts, breaking multiple records due to his 3-point shooting prowess. Knueppel led the NBA in 3-pointers made and also set a rookie record for made 3-pointers in a season. Throughout the year, Knueppel averaged 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.7 steals while shooting 42.5% from beyond the arc. Entering his sophomore season, Knueppel will be tasked with creating his own shot more often.
