Following the 2013-14 NBA season, the Charlotte Hornets inked free agent Marvin Williams to a two-year $14 million deal. Williams, a former No. 2 overall pick from UNC, spent the first nine seasons of his career between the Atlanta Hawks and the Utah Jazz. After the signing, Williams became a staple in Charlotte's rotation, making 75 or more starts in four of his six years with the team.
In 429 career games with Charlotte, Williams averaged 9.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks while shooting 37.8% from beyond the arc. Williams would negotiate a buyout with the Hornets during his final season in Charlotte, joining the Milwaukee Bucks to end his career. In 1,072 games over 15 seasons, Williams holds career averages of
10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks.
