Despite being selected in the 1994 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, Anthony Goldwire would make his first appearance as a professional with the Yakima SunKings of the Continental Basketball Association. Following a season in the CBA, Goldwire signed a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Hornets, making his NBA debut. The former Houston product played well enough to earn a standard deal for the rest of the season before being included in a trade to the Denver Nuggets during his sophomore campaign that sent Ricky Pierce to Charlotte.
Ultimately, in 75 games with the Hornets, Goldwire averaged 5.6 points, 2.7 assists, 1.1 rebounds and 0.5 steals as a point guard, playing 16 minutes per game. Goldwire would go on to play eight seasons for nine different
teams, with brief overseas stints in Europe as well. Following his playing career, he served as a Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach from 2010 to 2013.
