What is the story about?

The Charlotte Hornets host the Atlanta Hawks Friday night, looking to improve to 2-0 and earn their first home victory of the season. Charlotte earned an impressive victory in their season opener against the Nets, as a well-rounded effort propelled them to a 110-103 victory despite injuries to Coby White and Kon Knueppel.

Recent trade acquisition Naz Reid was a big reason for their success, as the former Minnesota Timberwolves forward tied his career high with seven assists in his Hornets debut. He also tallied 20 points and 11 rebounds. Following the game, Reid spoke about his first game with Charlotte, saying, "Could have been more efficient, but first game, I'll take what I can get. We won the game. That's all I got to ask for."

Reid's teammate,

Ryan Kalkbrenner, had high praise for the LSU alum after the contest, saying, "He's someone we love having down on the court. He does so many things. Guards well, shoots the ball well, posts up, gets downhill, all that. He's a great teammate to have, too."
