Acuff was highly touted out of Arkansas for his prolific scoring and ability as a lead guard, ranking third in the country in points (845) and seventh in assists (232). He joined Pete Maravich as the only players to lead the SEC in points and assists in the same season.
The 19-year-old averaged 17.3 points, 3.8 assists and 1.8 rebounds while shooting 42.1% from 3-point range in four preseason games. He led the Kings in scoring, having finished with 12 or more points in each appearance, including 25 on Oct. 10.
By all accounts, Acuff has had a productive preseason as he looks to officially tip off his NBA career this week. He is working diligently to hone his skills as a point guard and work to prove himself as a leader to the rest of the team early on.
