Following the first eight games of the 2026-27 season, the Charlotte Hornets appear to be nearing full health. For starters, Kon Knueppel is set to make his season debut Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets. Additionally, Coby White is back from a calf strain, having played his first game Monday against the Detroit Pistons.
More positive news followed Wednesday, as Grant Williams, Charlotte's only other injured player, was assigned to the Greensboro Swarm for practice. This will allow the seven-year veteran an opportunity to get reps in prior to an NBA return. Injuries have been tough on Williams since his arrival in Charlotte, as the former Boston Celtics forward played 36 games during the 2025-26 season after dealing with a knee injury
and only 16 games in the 2024-25 season.
In 81 games with the franchise, Williams holds career averages of 10.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.5 blocks.
