Charlotte Hornets forward Naz Reid has enjoyed a great start to the 2026-27 NBA season after being acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves
in June. In his first full season as a starter, Reid has posted career-high numbers in points, rebounds and assists to this point. Through four games, the former LSU forward is averaging 19.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks in 30.8 minutes per game. With these numbers, it's difficult to believe that the former Sixth Man of the Year Award winner has yet to make a free throw. Reid, a physical presence inside, has only attempted two free throws in four games to begin the year, one in the season opener against the Brooklyn Nets and another during Monday's game against the Washington
Wizards; however, he failed to convert on each. Having knocked down 73.2% of his foul shots a year ago, Reid will certainly get in a rhythm. That said, it's quite peculiar how few attempts he's had earlier on in the season, given his playing time and the physicality in which he competes with.
