On Friday, the Orlando Magic host the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Kia Center, and if you want to catch the action live, you’re in the right place.
The Magic lost 132-125 to the Atlanta Hawks in their regular-season opener on Wednesday. The two teams traded the lead 22 times, including 11 in the fourth quarter, before the Hawks took the lead for good after a couple of late 3s from Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who scored 31 points.
Atlanta converted 20 turnovers into 24 points and held advantages in paint scoring (60-50) and bench points (34-22) in its sixth straight win over Orlando. The group forced 13 turnovers in the first half alone, which led to 18 points before the break.
Paolo Banchero led the Magic with a game-high 35 points, 10 assists and
seven rebounds, while Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr. each scored 22 points. Banchero became the fourth player in franchise history with at least 35 points and 10 assists in a game.
Orlando played without fourth-year guard Anthony Black, who has been limited with a right ankle sprain suffered early in training camp. While he was ruled out of playing Friday, he is progressing in his recovery and was a full participant at shootaround.
The Timberwolves and Magic are meeting for the first of two regular-season matchups. Orlando swept the season series last year and has won 13 of the last 19 overall.
