After going 1-3 during the preseason, the Charlotte Hornets open their 2026-27 campaign on the road against the Brooklyn Nets
. Unfortunately for the Hornets, they'll start the season shorthanded, as Coby White, Kon Knueppel and Grant Williams have been ruled out due to injury. In their absence, expect Dennis Schroder to enter the starting lineup for White and Grayson Allen to replace his schoolmate Knueppel. With Knueppel sidelined, expect a heavy dose of star forward Brandon Miller, who recently signed a massive five-year contract extension with the franchise. In his support, the aforementioned Allen and recent trade acquisition Naz Reid should help provide a scoring punch. For Reid in particular, the matchup will provide a reunion of sorts,
as he'll go head-to-head against his former Minnesota Timberwolves teammate, Julius Randle.
