The Charlotte Hornets made an under-the-radar move Tuesday, signing a guard with NBA experience to an Exhibit 10 contract, making him a likely candidate to begin the 2026-27 season with Charlotte's G-League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm. The Hornets signed Bez Mbeng, a 6'4" shooting guard from Yale. Mbeng played in 15 games for the Utah Jazz last season, posting impressive numbers.

In those games, Mbeng averaged 8.1 points, 4.1 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 0.3 blocks in 32.8 minutes per game. Mbeng also posted a triple-double off the bench against the Memphis Grizzlies, posting 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Although Charlotte has filled all of their two-way slots, Mbeng could earn two-way consideration midseason if performing

well for Greensboro.

In 30 games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce last season, Mbeng averaged six points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, two steals and 0.5 blocks in 29 minutes per game.
