Larry Hughes was the third player in Charlotte Hornets franchise history to wear the No. 0, doing so for the Bobcats during the 2009-2010 season. Charlotte signed Hughes midseason after he was traded from the Knicks to the Kings and then waived by Sacramento. Hughes put together an underrated career, playing 13 NBA seasons with averages of 14.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.4 blocks. The former No. 8 overall pick enjoyed his strongest campaign during the 2004-05 season with the Washington Wizards, averaging 22 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and a league-leading 2.9 steals.
However, Hughes only played 14 games with the Bobcats, averaging 8.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, two assists and 0.9 steals in 21.1 minutes per game. He
would go unsigned ahead of the 2010-11 season before joining the Orlando Magic for nine more games during the 2011-12 campaign, the final year of his NBA career.
